Below is an excerpt: <\/p>\n<p><strong>What is this paper about? What is new in this paper?<\/strong><br \/>Our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.degruyter.com\/document\/doi\/10.1515\/fhep-2024-0014\/html\">recent publication<\/a>\u00a0presents a comprehensive framework for evaluating the societal value of health technologies, known as the generalized cost-effectiveness analysis (GCEA) model. Unlike traditional cost-effectiveness analysis, which focuses primarily on healthcare sector costs and direct patient benefits, GCEA introduces a broader range of value elements from a societal perspective. These include aspects like patient and caregiver spillover effects, productivity impacts, and community benefits. GCEA aims to expand and update previous efforts\u2014such as the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/linkinghub.elsevier.com\/retrieve\/pii\/S1098301517338925\">ISPOR Value Flower<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/jamanetwork.com\/journals\/jama\/article-abstract\/2552214\">Second Panel on Cost Effectiveness in Health and Medicine<\/a>\u2014capturing additional elements like dynamic net health system costs and incorporating recent methodological advances such as generalized and risk-adjusted cost effectiveness (GRACE) and distributional cost-effectiveness analysis (DCEA).<br \/>The paper also offers readers a user-friendly guide for applying this GCEA framework in health technology assessments (HTAs).
