On Monday, November 18th, six extraordinary members of our Crothall Environmental Services team proudly represented us as the \u201cCleaning Crusaders\u201d at the <\/span>2024 IEHA Housekeeping Olympics<\/span><\/a> in Las Vegas, Nevada.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This prestigious event transforms cleaning into an Olympic sport, drawing top teams from around the globe. While traditionally aimed at the hospitality industry, the competition has recently opened its doors to other markets\u2014making Crothall Healthcare one of the first healthcare organizations to step into the ring.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n

The Housekeeping Olympics is a dynamic showcase of skill, precision, and teamwork, featuring events such as bed making, mop relay, buffer pad toss, vacuum race, and the highly anticipated executive challenge. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

The teams\u2019 <\/span>Spirit Dance<\/span>s showcased a different team-building skill, and Crothall\u2019s Cleaning Crusaders participated by dancing to \u201cUptown Funk\u201d by Bruno Mars. Their Olympics parade music? \u201cGonna Fly Now\u201d \u2013 the Rocky theme.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our EVS Olympians brought their talent and dedication to the stage, competing alongside the best of the best. <\/span><\/p>\n

-Mop Relay <\/span>Competition<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

-3 Years at Crothall Healthcare<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

-Recently awarded <\/span>Gem of the Quarter<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

-\u201cI mostly enjoy working in hospitality. In working with patients and my coworkers I have learned of a deep empathy for others,\u201d said Babylyn.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

-Fun Fact: <\/span>Babylyn used to be a cheerleader.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lois Steelman | Housekeeper | Novant Health \u2013 Clemmons\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n

-17 years with Crothall Healthcare; the only nonagenarian competitor at 90<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

-Lois loves to interact with patients and staff members. She is a people person. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

-FY24 Divisional GEM of the Year Winner for the Longinotti EVS Division & the Jenkins Regional GEM of the Year<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

-Fun Fact: <\/span>Lois loves to go to the beach, and she does love to shop. She also loves spending time with her family.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Carlos Padilla | Housekeeper | LVHN \u2013 Muhlenberg<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n

-Vacuum Relay<\/span> Competition<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

-10 Years at Crothall Healthcare<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

-Awarded <\/span>Employee of the Month<\/span> and the<\/span> Hospital Partners in Caring Award<\/span> (hospital award for non-clinical team members)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

-When asked what is the best thing about his job, Carlos said, \u201cThe people! Talking to the people and making a difference each and every day.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

-Fun Fact:<\/span> Carlos is a father of two kids and moved from Puerto Rico in 1980. He said that faith is very important and is very involved in church.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
