To celebrate Tom\u00a0Racobaldo\u2019s\u00a0upcoming retirement, Compass One Healthcare\u00a0leaders\u00a0who\u00a0have\u00a0worked closely with Tom\u00a0over the years\u00a0were asked to describe\u00a0his impact on operations,\u00a0culture\u00a0and their lives. Their responses\u00a0show\u00a0the gratitude,\u00a0respect\u00a0and admiration each person has for\u00a0Tom:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tom\u00a0has been the\u00a0complete leader\u00a0for our organization.\u00a0His capability, steadiness,\u00a0and character\u00a0are unmatched.\u00a0He\u2019s\u00a0a great business leader\u00a0who\u00a0always achieved outstanding results, but he did it by never\u00a0sacrificing\u00a0his personal values.\u00a0He treats everyone with kindness and respect, and his family always comes first.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Another key to Tom\u2019s success has been his ability\u00a0to bring people together.\u00a0One of my\u00a0best memories\u00a0is what he did to win the\u00a0Ascension business. This was\u00a0many\u00a0years ago when\u00a0Crothall and Morrison were separate companies.\u00a0We had never worked\u00a0together, but Tom\u00a0helped unite\u00a0our\u00a0two companies\u00a0with a collaborative spirit to include food services and housekeeping.\u00a0\u00a0And he never doubted we could do it. He just kept all of us focused on the prize.\u00a0There were other accounts\u00a0where he did the same,\u00a0but this is the one I always remember because Tom was at his best \u2013 determined to have us succeed.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n

Tom will be remembered\u00a0as the person who built this company from the ground up. He was an integral part of every aspect of our growth, and\u00a0Crothall\u00a0would not be\u00a0the company we know today without Tom.\u00a0I\u2019ve\u00a0learned so much from the way he approaches\u00a0the business.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0just so calm and cool. Regardless of\u00a0what\u2019s\u00a0going on, he never gets too high, never gets too low.\u00a0I hope I can emulate that approach.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n

Tom has been my only mentor for more than 30 years.\u00a0He took a chance and promoted me to\u00a0a regional\u00a0director of operations\u00a0in 1997. For my first role as vice president, Tom convinced me to\u00a0relocate\u00a0my family to Miami in 2000. Then he brought us back to Pennsylvania and\u00a0supported me in the advancement of my\u00a0Crothall\/Compass career until 2003.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After leaving\u00a0Crothall\u00a0in 2003, Tom and I stayed connected until I returned\u00a0after being gone for 16 years.\u00a0When he called\u00a0to see if I would return, the decision was simple.\u00a0\u00a0Very few people in anyone\u2019s professional life take the time to truly make a difference in the lives of those they are responsible for.\u00a0\u00a0That\u2019s\u00a0the only way Tom knows how to do it.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n

I\u2019m\u00a0extremely thankful and grateful that Tom took a chance on me seven years ago to lead the Patient Transportation Division.\u00a0Under Tom\u2019s leadership,\u00a0I\u2019ve\u00a0learned the\u00a0power of being patient and steady for our teams;\u00a0to be humble and honest in everything you do; to\u00a0invest in and take care of your people, and the\u00a0importance of family.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u00a0can\u2019t\u00a0thank him enough for the impact he has\u00a0made\u00a0on me and will work to pay it forward to future leaders of the company\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tom leads with kindness and integrity. He\u00a0has always been there to provide a \u201cgut check\u201d for all of us to do the right thing, whether that meant for a client or our people.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Further, we always felt his trust.\u00a0\u00a0He allowed us the room to manage and supported us but there was also accountability.\u00a0I always felt that he\u00a0listened to us and supported us.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n

Tom is an\u00a0exceptional leader who comes along once in a lifetime. I personally strived\u00a0never to disappoint Tom. Few in the industry\u00a0possess\u00a0the rare combination of strong leadership and genuine care for\u00a0each individual, which is a significant reason for the company\u2019s success.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

His unique talent lies in mentoring others through thoughtful advice and real-life examples.\u00a0As a 30-year veteran of our company,\u00a0I can confidently say I have never heard a negative word about Tom and his leadership\u2014never.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n

In today\u2019s ever challenging business environment, I\u00a0can\u2019t\u00a0begin to tell you just how much we all value his leadership and absolute confidence that\u00a0we\u00a0as a company, will always do\u00a0what\u2019s\u00a0right.\u00a0\u00a0The \u201cright thing\u201d\u00a0isn\u2019t\u00a0always the easiest or most cost-effective thing, but Tom has continually shown us it is always the right thing.\u00a0\u00a0We\u2019re\u00a0all grateful for the values and leadership approach\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0instilled within all of us.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
